Hydrant Inspections
4/2/2008 9:32:00 AM
Twice a year, the Clifton Fire Department conducts hydrant inspections. The inspection cycles are March/April in the Spring and September/October in the Fall. Normally, checking the hydrant does not involve flowing water and should not create discolored water. If there is an unexpected problem with the hydrant, you may experience discolored water. If you experience discolored water, please call Passaic Valley Water Commission at 973-340-4300. Also, if your laundry has become discolored due to brown rust colored water, contact Passaic Valley Water Commission. They have a product that will remove the discoloration. The Clifton Fire Department is careful not to create discolored water, but sometimes it is beyond our control. The hydrant inspections are necessary to keep the hydrants operating properly if needed. Very truly yours,
Deputy Chief Jeffrey Adams
Acting Fire Chief
