maintained it's own Welfare program under the auspices of the Local Public Assistance
Board which was appointed by the Mayor and Council prior to contracting with the
County. The program is offered at 114 Prospect St, Passaic, NJ. This
transition has allowed the program to expand it's level of services for Clifton
residents to include Food Stamps, Aid to Families with Dependent Children, and Medicaid
Certification. Information and referral are available about other social service
organizations. Those social services needs not provided by the Welfare Division
are handled through the Health and Senior Citizen Divisions.
