TV’s, Computers and all Electronics Must be Recycled
|
In 2001, the City of Clifton received national recognition from the U.S. EPA Waste Wise program for its collection of electronic items from the waste stream. Since that time the City has recycled over 1,500 tons of electronics which includes computers, monitors, keyboards, radios, telephone systems, TV’s, stereos, VCR’s, and printers.
Last year, the New Jersey Department of Environmental protection passed a “BAN” effective January 1st 2011 that all electronics must be recycled and cannot be placed in landfills or incinerators. Residents of Clifton must continue to recycle all their electronics by bringing those items to the DPW yard, at 307 East 7th Street, Monday thru Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Drop-off of electronics is “Free” and you must be a Clifton resident. For further information regarding the electronics “Ban” residents can check out the DEP web-site at www.recyclenj.org
Electronics will not be collected with your solid waste. Electronics left at the curb must be removed immediately. Any questions regarding electronics recycling please call the DPW at 973-470-2239...
Your cooperation is appreciated.
