LIL’ NINJAS

8-week class designed for tots who want to begin developing martial arts skills. Participants will learn how to build their strength and confidence while making friends and having fun. Limit: 20 per class.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT

This class is an introduction to various forms of dance and movement. Participants will learn some basic dance steps, participate in creative expression exercises, and interact as a group while using ribbons, scarves and hoops. Limit: 10 per class.

Warm up those imaginations with cool winter crafts during this 6-week classroom celebration featuring stories, crafts and activities about the season of winter. Snowmen, snow globes, penguins and more will bring winter alive. Limit: 10 per class.

SUPERHERO STORY TIME

“I SPY” EXPLORERS

FUTURE SLUGGERS

This beginner recreational program is designed to teach tots the proper fundamentals of throwing, fielding, catching and hitting. The class will include rules, drills and games that will help teach young future sluggers how to understand baseball/softball.

TINY TACKLERS

PIZZA AND PASTA PLAYTIME

Calling all pizza and pasta lovers! This 6-week class will be magnifico! Enjoy stories featuring our favorite foods, pizza and pasta. Play silly games and sing funny songs about pizza and pasta. Make pasta pictures and crafts. Finish the last class with a pizza party featuring your own handmade pizza English muffins. Limit: 10 per class.

BIDDY BOWLERS

This introductory bowling class is for preschool age children interested in learning to bowl in a fun and engaging way. Class will cover both techniques and safety. Limit: 10 per class.

GOAL-DEN KICKERS

The youngest future stars are taken to an imaginary soccer world and taught basic techniques through storyline soccer in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere during this 6-week class. As much as possible, players will be able to interact with a ball at all times during the session. Limit: 30 per class.

READINESS & LEARNING PRE-KINDERGARTEN
Age(s) 4 – 5 must be 4 by October 1, 2013
Our Readiness and Learning Pre-Kindergarten Program has been provided by the City of Clifton Recreation Department for 29 years at our Community Recreation Center located at 1232 Main Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07011. Registration is currently being accepted for the 2013-2014 school year at the Clifton Recreation Department office in City Hall. The program is fully licensed by the State of New Jersey. To register: Complete a registration card (available in office), bring a copy of child’s birth certificate, and pay $145.00 (residents) or $175.00 (non-residents) non-refundable registration fee (this fee will cover May’s tuition provided the child completes the school year). An application packet will be presented at registration. Class is conducted three days a week Tuesday, Thursday and Friday following the Clifton Public School calendar, as best as possible, when it comes to weather cancellations, delayed openings, vacation breaks, holidays, etc. The morning class is held 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. and the afternoon class from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. A mandatory parent and student orientation will be conducted in September. Tuition fees are $120.00 per month for residents and $150.00 per month for non-residents.
