Five times a year, volunteers in Clifton, N.J., erect the Avenue of Flags through lanes of the municipal complex. The flags go up around dawn and come down at dusk. They're quite a sight, these dozens of Stars and Stripes billowing in the breeze of a sunny, blue-sky day. As you walk through them, two sounds drown out any others: The flapping of the nylon in the wind, and the rustle of leaves beneath your feet -- at least on Veterans Day, that is.

Honor a Clifton veteran by purchasing a flag. Simply fill out the application form below and mail it in with a $100.00 check and proof of veteran's service. The purchase includes a durable flag pole with a 3' X 5' 100% nylon embroidered flag, a protective sleeve, a name plate, and a ground socket. The veteran's name, branch of service, and the donor's name will be placed in our registry book located in City Hall. Flags will be displayed on the City Hall grounds on Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Patriot Day, and Veteran's Day for everyone to see. We also need volunteers to put up and take down the flags on the dates listed below. Field of Honor Ceremony
Please join the Clifton Avenue of Flags on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM as they honor 20 more servicemen who lost their lives while serving in the Armed Forces.  The Field of Honor is located on the corner of Linzenbold Drive and Well Road across from the Avenue of Flags Barn.  Light refreshments will be served after the service.
