Recreation - Junior SportStar
Dates: July 8th – August 16th, 2013
Days: Monday through Friday
Times: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Participants: Completion of 1st through entering 4th grade (as of September 2013).
Registration: Pre-registration is required. There are 6 sessions offered. Each session lasts one week and is limited to 80 participants. You may register for as many sessions as you wish through the mail-in process. Beginning June 3rd, walk-in registration will be accepted. Parents may register for any and all camp openings still available and purchase T-shirts. Non-residents are not eligible to register until one week prior to the start of summer camp (July 1st) at which time registration will be open, at the non-resident rate, if space is still available.
Fee: $35.00 resident / $45.00 non-resident per session (additional cost for T-shirts)
Location: School #2 - 1270 Van Houten Ave
Special Features: Campers will participate in a variety of sports related activities each day which includes a collection of fun and fundamental skills, drills and lead up games. Activities will focus on hand/foot coordination, ball handling skills, agility, running, dodging, pivoting and more. Program will include weekly art/craft activities. Periodic trips to Athenia SteelRecreationComplex for outdoor activities may occur. Participants must wear sneakers daily.
Park Picnic: Friday, August 16th atMain Memorial Park from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. An additional cost of $8.00 will apply. Open to all campers from sessions 1 – 6. Fee includes lunch, games, talent show, rides and much more.
Park Dance: Thursday, August 8th at School # 3 (365 Washington Avenue) from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. An additional cost of $8.00 will apply. Open to all campers registered from sessions 1 – 6. Fee includes dinner and entertainment.
NJ Jackals Trip: Wednesday, July 17th at Yogi Berra Stadium. Open to participants registered in the 6th session of Junior SportStar only! Pre-payment for the trip and the purchasing of a camp T-shirt (required for trips) can be made at the Clifton Recreation Office beginning June 3rd. Additional information will be mailed to you in the parent handbook.
