It’s party time!

Birthday Party Packages Available:

Both the Clifton Skatezone and the Chelsea Park Rink are available throughout the year for birthday parties. There are 3 packages that you may choose from. The maximum number of guests per party is 20. Select the party that best suits your needs. There are limited times and dates available so early booking is strongly recommended. Parties will be conducted during operating hours of the facility except for the Slap Shot party. The birthday child will receive a free pass for 1 day of skating.

Booking A Party:

The cost per person for each party is listed under the party description in this brochure. To book a date please call for an application or obtain one here. Return the completed application to Clifton Recreation Department, 900 Clifton Avenue, Clifton, New Jersey 07013. Please submit a separate application for each party date requested. A contract will be sent confirming the date, time and size of the party. This contract must be signed and returned along with a $25.00 non-refundable deposit (will be refunded if the facility is closed due to inclement weather) made payable to Clifton Recreation.

Equipment:

Guests without safety equipment are restricted to the Skatium. Those wishing to participate in the Xtreme Scene and on the Skate Trail must wear the following protective gear: helmet, elbow pads and kneepads (wrist guards are strongly recommended). The Skatezone has safety equipment available for rent at $2.00 an item or pair, or $5.00 for the combo (Helmet, elbow and knee pads). At this time, there are no skate rentals available.

Supervision Requirements:

Each party will have a host that will stay with the group throughout the party. Depending on the age of the group and the activities of the party, the participants have the option to skate in various areas. The host will move around the facility and interact with the participants. There is no charge for the parents of the partygoers. Parents have the option to sit and watch the participants or may choose to skate with the group. Additional siblings wishing to participate in the activities will be counted as party participants and must pay for their visit regardless of their membership status. All others may attend the park as a usual daily visitor. The host will be available to assist in the picnic area; however, it is the parent’s responsibility to plan the activities for this time (i.e. opening presents, cake, etc.). If you select a party package that includes food, parents may choose to purchase the same food package as the party participants for a cost of $3.00 per person. Orders must be made on the application. If you are not booking the party with the food plan, you are responsible for all paper goods, etc. There is no refrigeration available at the facility.

Participant Requirements:

All participants, that will be skating, must come with a completed waiver signed by their parents or legal guardian; this includes individuals that already have waivers on file with the Skatezone. Parents planning to skate may sign their own waiver. When we send you the party application, we will also send you a waiver form that you may duplicate or you may obtain one from our website. All guests are required to follow all facility rules and regulations. Safety gear is required to participate in the Xtreme Scene and on the Skate Trail. Please note that no child under the age of 8 is allowed in the Xtreme Scene area.

In the Zone

The “In The Zone” party will be conducted at the Clifton Skatezone. The participants must be 8 years of age or older. There is the option of including food with the package (2 slices of pizza, 1 can of soda and a bag of chips). A party host will interact with the participants, keep the party on schedule and assist with the picnic area activities.

Admission Fee: $8.00 per person without food
$11.00 per person with food
Package Includes: 2 hours at the Xtreme Scene, Skatium and on the Skate Trail
1 hour in picnic area.

Roller Derby

The “Roller Derby” party will be conducted at the Clifton Skatezone or at the Chelsea Park Rink. This party is designed for children 7 year of age and younger. There is the option of including food with the package (2 slices of pizza, 1 can of soda and a bag of chips). A party host will interact with the participants, keep the party on schedule and assist with the picnic area activities.

Admission Fee: $6.00 per person without food
$9.00 per person with food
Package Includes: 2 hours at the Xtreme Scene, Skatium and on the Skate Trail
1 hour in picnic area.

Slap Shot

The “Slap Shot” party will be conducted primarly at the Chelsea Park Rink. The participants may be of any age. There is the option of including food with the package (2 slices of pizza, 1 can of soda and a bag of chips). A party host will run the party and assist with picnic area activities. This party is designed exclusively for the hockey player in mind. The party can be conducted as a roller hockey or street hockey party. There will be the appropriate equipment available for each participant and all participants must wear mouthpieces ($1.00 each) or they may choose to bring their own. Participants will play a game as well as the variety of hockey related activities.

Admission Fee: $8.00 per person without food
$11.00 per person with food
Package Includes: 2 hours of hockey at the Chelsea Park Rink
1 hour in picnic area.

 

Rink Rental

Limited time is available for rental of the Skatium and the Chelsea Park Rink by outside organizations. Interested parties must fill out permit requests with the Recreation Department. You may get a permit request form here. At the present time, the Xtreme Scene is not available for rental.
