Skate & Play Skate & Show

Group Packages Available:

During the months of July and August, group packages are available for groups of 25 or more. There are 3 packages available that you may choose from (with a choice of lunch being provided). Lunch includes: 2 slices of pizza, 1 can of soda and 1 bag of chips. Select the trip that best suits your camp or group needs. There are limited times and dates available, so early booking is strongly recommended.

Registering A Group:

Summer bookings begin February 15th of the visiting year. The cost per person for each trip is listed under the trip description. To book a date please call for an application or you can obtain one here. Return the completed application to Clifton Recreation Department, 900 Clifton Avenue, Clifton, New Jersey 07013. Please submit a separate application for each date requested. A contract will be sent confirming the date, time and size of the party. This contract must be signed and returned along with a $25.00 non-refundable deposit (will be refunded if the facility is closed due to inclement weather) made payable to Clifton Recreation.

Supervision Requirements:

There is no charge for your staff, however, they are required to assist with the supervision of groups while skating and have the complete responsibility for the supervision of participants at the park and picnic areas. Staff is recommended to make periodic buddy checks or head counts throughout the day. A minimum of 1 staff to 15 youth is recommended. Skatezone employees will direct your staff as to where they should be located during activities. Staff may choose to purchase lunch for a cost of $3.00 per person and includes the same items as the group packages; please order on group application.

Participant Requirements:

All participants and staff that will be skating, must come with a completed waiver signed by their parents or legal guardian, this includes individuals that already have waivers on file with the Skatezone. When we send you the group trip application, we will also send you a waiver form that you may duplicate or you may obtain one here. All guests and staff are required to follow all facility rules and regulations. Safety gear is required to participate in the Xtreme Scene and on the Skate Trail. Please note that no child under the age of 8 is allowed in the Xtreme Scene area. There may be more than one group attending the facility at the same time; it is strongly recommended that your group wears a trip/camp shirt so that they are easily identified.

Equipment:

Guests without safety equipment are restricted to the Skatium. Those wishing to participate in the Xtreme Scene and on the Skate Trail must wear the following protective gear: helmet, elbow pads and kneepads (wrist guards are strongly recommended). The Skatezone has safety equipment available for rent at $2.00 an item/pair. At this time, there are no skate rentals available.

SKATE AND PLAY

The Skate and Play package will be conducted at the Clifton Skatezone. The groups will divide their time between the Skatezone, picnic area and a local park. There is the option of booking a half-day trip or a full day trip and the option of including lunch with the package. All groups will be provided with equipment to use at the park to include: balls, bases, cones and bats. Staff can attend for free, with the option of purchasing lunch for $3.00 per person.

Full Day Package

Hours: 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Admission Fee: $7.50 per camper without lunch package
$10.00 per camper with lunch package
Package Includes: 3 hours of skating at the Chelsea Park Rink
2 hours at Weasel Brook Park for field games
1 hour in picnic area for lunch

Half-Day Package

Hours: 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or 12:30p.m.-3:30 p.m.
Admission Fee: $3.75 per camper without lunch package
$6.00 per camper with lunch package
Package Includes: 1-½ hours of skating at the Chelsea Park Rink
1 hour at the Clearview’s Allwood Cinema
½ hour in picnic area for lunch
An extra hour of skating can be substituted for the hour at Weasel Brook Park.

 

SKATE AND SHOW

The Skate and Show package is conducted at a separate site called the Chelsea Park Rink. The Chelsea Park Rink is a full size rink for skating and the groups will divide their time between skating at the rink, picnic area and a matinee at the Clearview’s Allwood Cinema located on Market Street (walking distance from rink). There is the option of including lunch with the package. Staff can attend free with the option of purchasing lunch for $3.00 per person.

Full Day Package

Hours: 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Admission Fee: $9.50 per camper without lunch package
$12.00 per camper with lunch package
Package Includes: 3 hours of skating at the Chelsea Park Rink
2 hours at the Clearview’s Allwood Cinema
1 hour in picnic area for lunch
