Want to build friendships, better the skating world and get a deep sense of accomplishment? You can do it without making a big sacrifice or commitment. A vital part of our department is our volunteers and the valuable time they give. The name of our volunteer program is called V.A.N., which stands for Volunteers Are Necessary, and the Clifton Recreation Department is proud of the many recreation volunteers that assist our department. You will find it a rewarding experience and a great opportunity to serve your community as well as enhance skating. There are several volunteer opportunities available at the Skatezone including; Maintenance, Special Events, Competitions, Office Work, Group/Camp Visits, Classes and more. Whatever your talents, you are of value to us and your help is always appreciated. Volunteer hours will be recorded and volunteers will receive rewards annually in recognition of their service hours provided. In addition, names will be listed on our website.

 

Registering:

All participants interested in volunteering at the Skatezone need to register. Registration can be conducted at the Clifton Recreation Department or at the Clifton Skatezone. A volunteer application may be obtained here. Individuals under the age of 18 must have a parent’s signature on their application. Volunteers will be selected based on need and available hours. Volunteers will be contacted as needed.

 

Responsibilities:

Volunteer must follow all rules and regulations of the Clifton Skatezone when conducting volunteer activities. In order to keep accurate records, volunteers must sign in and sign out each day. If you are unavailable to fulfill a previously made commitment, please inform us as soon as possible so that we can find a suitable replacement.
